Meera Sodha’s vegan recipe for Pakistani-style potato and spinach curry | The new vegan

A thick vegetable curry with tender potatoes that yield into a warming, spicy spinach and tomato sauce I took a hiatus from this column to do what the Italians call “ dolce far niente ” (the sweet art of doing nothing), and in that time, without having to write new recipes, I was able to eat and cook selfishly, following my own desires. These took me to a little Pakistani curry shop, where I found a potato and spinach curry I could easily eat every day for the rest of my life. The potatoes were salty and fudgy, much like in a Spanish tortilla, and the spinach was an oily emerald tangle, having given up all hope of freshness. It wasn’t innovative (or even very pretty), but it hit the spot so perfectly, I nearly shouted, “Bingo!” UK readers: click to buy these ingredients from Ocado Continue reading... from Recipes | The Guardian https://ift.tt/FzhNvUk via IFTTT

How to make asparagus tart – recipe | Felicity Cloake's Masterclass

Your step-by-step guide to a simple springtime tart that celebrates the all-too-short British asparagus season My favourite way to eat asparagus is steamed and drenched in melted butter, and with such a brief season, it’s hard to tire of that simple pleasure … but, sometimes, the occasion demands a bit more effort. Not much, though; this tart, which plays on the grassy spears’ affinity with rich, creamy flavours, looks impressive, but is actually more of an assembly job. Image
Royal author, Tina Brown claims that Kate is instrumental to the continuation of the monarchy thanks to her commitment to The Firm. Brown claims that Kates’s modern attitude and beauty is what is keeping today’s monarchy afloat.  This royal news comes after Prince Andrew was stripped of ANOTHER honour despite the Queen’s united front . Tina Brown, author of ‘The Palace Papers’ claims that if Kate ever wanted to step back as a senior royal , much like Harry and Meghan, the monarchy would fall apart. During an interview with Page Six , Brown explained, “If for any reason, she thought like Meghan, ‘I’m out of here, I can do much better,’ it would be a disaster.” She continued saying the monarchy “would, I think, crumble at the moment without her because she’s the only modern, beautiful woman who’s well-educated, sub

You could even flavour the biscuits to suit your mum's tastebuds. Get the recipe: Flower cookies These cookies are almost too pretty to eat… almost. If you’re baking cookies to give as a gift, we thing these are about as good as you get. They are decorated in beautiful different coloured ready-to-roll icing and topped with piped royal icing flowers. This makes them easier to make than traditionally iced biscuits, which use the flood icing method. But they look just as good. Present them in cellophane bags of two or three, or layer them up in boxes, with a piece of greaseproof paper between each layer. They look so professional, but they’re really not difficult to create. The post Flower cookies appeared first on GoodtoKnow . from Recipes – GoodtoKnow https://ift.tt/NHLAk1M via IFTTT
