Green shakshuka by Sami Tamimi and Tara Wigley – recipe

Fresh chard, tangy yoghurt and a hit of chilli makes this moreish brunch dish a real weekend treat The 20 best recipes for the weekend – in full The base can be prepared a day or two in advance if you want to get ahead. If you do this, just hold back on adding the lemon juice (as well as the eggs) until you are ready to eat. Adding the lemon juice too early to the leaves will cause them to discolour. Chunks of feta dotted on top are a lovely addition here, instead of or as well as the yoghurt. A final sprinkle of za’atar also works really well. Shatta is on every Palestinian table, cutting through rich foods or pepping others up. Eggs, meat, vegetables: they all love it. Kentang kecap dan jahe – crispy soy and ginger roast potatoes recipe by Lara Lee

Beautifully crisp, hugely versatile, these potatoes will revolutionise your Sunday lunch side dishes The 20 best recipes for the weekend – in full These versatile potatoes are impossibly crispy, and it’s a dish I love to serve as an impressive side alongside steaks at a summer barbecue or a Sunday roast. A stand-out accompaniment, the potatoes are roasted, tossed with stir-fried spring onions, then drizzled with a rich soy dressing that is sharpened by the acidic hit of vinegar. In the same way that vinegar can make the crunchiest of chips go a little soggy, my soy and vinegar dressing has the same effect, so dress the potatoes only when you are ready to serve them. Serves 4-6 as a side sunflower oil for roasting whole garlic bulb 1 large, halved widthways floury potatoes 1.2kg (such as maris piper), skin on and cut into 4cm chunks sea salt and black pepper to taste Continue reading... from Recipes | The Guardian https://ift.tt/3iiiv1t via IFTTT

Ravneet Gill’s recipe for rum babas

A great recipe to have up your sleeve for an impressive weekend dinner party – they also store very well The 20 best recipes for the weekend – in full In my opinion, rum babas aren’t made enough, and when they are, they aren’t made well enough. This recipe is a really great one to have up your sleeve as once baked they store very well. What you’re essentially doing is making a slightly more savoury-style brioche and flavouring it with a rum syrup. The general rule here is that the syrup shouldn’t be overly thin, and it should be packed full of flavour as this is what you will taste when eating. The quantity of rum you use really depends on your preference, so just be sure to taste the syrup before using. I find lemon zest and a squeeze of lemon juice really gives it an extra lift. This recipe works best in a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook. Makes 10 small babas whole milk 60ml fresh yeast 20g or 7g dry active yeast plain flour 100g strong white bread flour 130g, minu...
